"Your Twitter account should be used just for professional-related interactions."

Twitter is one the best social networking micro-blogging site available.  Members of the site can send and receive messages through the use of their computers or mobile services also known as tweet messages.  These messages are posted on the user's profile page.  Users can post tweets of anything they would like to post.

Fill out your Twitter biography completely and include all of the information you would like to share. Be concise with that information as there are only 160 characters including spaces available.  This information should contain the industry you've worked in including how many years you have worked for, type of work you're looking for and the industry.

Upload a picture of yourself preferable a professional head shot photo. This will help fellow tweeters to put a name to the face of who they are following.  A photo that is too casual may give off a non-serious attitude.

Follow people who are within the same career or industry, organization, and interested job role. There are a plethora of Twitter directories and applications available to find others who are within the same target such as Twellow. Twellow is one of the most popularly known and recommended Twitter directories.

Tweet responsibly by sending out smart tweets when you’re interacting with other people on Twitter.  Your Twitter account should be used just for professional-related interactions. There are only 140 characters so it’s important to send out interesting tweets but avoid controversy in the same aspect.

Don’t be afraid to offer your help to others as this shows you have a true interest in their topic.  Offering help, for example, can consist of answering a question for them. This shows you’re serious  and shows through as a possible job candidate.
