Hundreds of New Jobs in North Carolina

During the last year, the job market in North Carolina has surged. 36,500 jobs were added to the state overall—which includes all non-farming jobs—making the state rank 10^th in overall job growth through the end of the first quarter. Nearly 14,000 non-farming jobs were added in March alone, lowering the state’s unemployment rate to below 10%.  

The area can look forward to an additional 1,200 jobs from a Florida health care company as well. Connextions Inc. will be opening up an entirely new facility in Charlotte, as well as expanding the one they already have in Concord. The company has 4,000 employees, and all of them work within the United States. Connextions has a policy of keeping its payroll within U.S. borders—something that should both be commended and made into law for other companies to follow.

Two hundred more jobs will be added to Charlotte soon via Electrolux North America. The manufacturing company is expected to add these jobs to the Charlotte area within the next year. They will be resulting from both state aid through the Job Development Investment Grant and One North Carolina programs as well as local investments, totaling a $14 million investment altogether.
