Current students who are in school and people who desire to go back to school are looking for a way to ensure to make the best amounts of money after they finish their college career. Students who are pursuing a degree in math and/or sciences may not be a surprising factor to say the least. However, there are other majors that can lead to lucrative paycheck.

Economics

Economists can earn a median mid-career salary of $94,700 with a median beginning salary of $47,300.  Most economics majors will usually choose a career in finance and business-related fields.  This degree normally has top salaries within the banking and finance organizations. However, the reports from American Economic Association this field allows for economics to go into a variety types of work including nonprofit work and public policy work, research, education, government, law, and consulting.

Political Science and Government

It has been found that all levels within the U.S. government prefer to look out for these majors.  Political science and government graduates are all able to obtain jobs in domestic and international companies, nonprofits, lobbying groups, political campaigns, contract firms, aid organizations, nongovernmental entities and think tanks. The median mid-career pay ranges from $80,100-$87,300 and the median starting pay was $39,000-$41,400.  Students with economic graduate degrees are easily able to find work in business, legal sectors, finance, marketing, public policy, and education.

Physics

A physics career has a median mid-career salary pay $101,000 and the median beginning salary of $49,800.  This type of career requires students to have completed a higher level of mathematics and sciences.  Per the American Institute of Physics, they reported that physics graduates will be able to find work within organizations ranging from hospitals, education, museums, publishing organizations, U.S. military, domestic and foreign governments, and laboratories, and education. It's best for physics majors to get a higher degree in order to obtain higher paying work.
